Film research Unit 7

The film Jumangi has a very different kind of film website. The traditional sort of website, for example the darkest hour. 
Jumangi's website is themed around a game, when the official website is opened it has loading screen like a game, just after the loading screen it then goes to the home screen as it does that a pop up appears saying "get tickets now". It also has a mini game that can be accessed by clicking on the link that says 360. 
Along the top of the home page there is a number of links leading to different parts of the website.
on the home page it has the about paragraph and the cast and crew, just below this to give the website a more game like feel it has a section called "Meet the Avatars",  in this section u can look at each character and their "Strengths and Weaknesses"they demonstrate in the film.  Gallery has pictures from the film framed in a television.
I don't think I will try to make any kind of games for my website as i think it will be to complex to try and my skills with making games will be very limited.


Darkest hour 
Has a traditional approach towards its website, this is to tie in with the formality of the film. Along the top of the home page it has a simplistic bar to select the various links .
The website has a constant moving image in the background which is quite attractive feature to have as it is giving a bit of a preview of the film.
  • Get tickets has a section to search cinemas currently screening Darkest hour.
  • Synopsis has a paragraph quickly discussing the the story, in the synopsis it also has the director, the cast and who the film was produced by.
  • The gallery as of yet only has one picture of the film, there is also no frame around the picture.
  • In videos there is one two and a half minute long trailer, this is the official trailer for the film.


Pitch perfect 
On the left of the homepage there is a tab that leads to the following 

  • The story - this is is the outline of the plot for the film
  • The gallery - containing images form the film
  • Videos - this has two of the trailers for the film
  • The quiz - asking questions, after you finish the website gives you a wild card as to who you would be in the film
  • Book tickets - can book tickets at the closest cinema to you 
  • Partners - who the film has partnered with  e.g. pink-berry
  • Watch it at home - where you can buy the film on blu-ray or regular dvd

The Greatest Showman
On the home page there is a few links leading to different parts of the website .


  • videos - showing all trailers for the film
  • about - showing what the film is about and who the director is  as well as others that contributed to making the film
  • featured content 
  • gallery - containing photos from the film
  • posters - this is to relate to the film being a show and it having posters
  • related movies 
  • awards - where the film shows off it having a golden globe

TV & Film, Make a live advertisement, advertising a BIC multicolours pen and how amazing it is. Research  We started in groups of 5 brainstorming ideas of how we would go about expressing how good the pen was. We had several different ideas but we ended up agreeing on the idea that two people would end up having a sword fight with a regular pen and a BIC pen. H5P hotspots Unit 7

H5P has enabled me to create hotspots on my website which lead to bits of text that present teasers about the film. This works very well as it leaves the viewer in a state of suspense this relates very well to my production as it is thriller genre. These bits of text can help the narrative as they can also hint at the plot to help engage the reader and encourage them to watch the film. Bits of footage can also establish what the film could be about and the what the viewer is likely to see if they watch the film. Having the hotspots also demonstrates the type of film I am producing, by adding interactive content such as hotspots puts emphasise on the fact that I have made an interactive production.
